Hello from Vilunü

We want to change how you remember Maldives

Inspired by the secluded tropical jungles and the luscious flora of our islands, we’re on a mission to capture the essence of Maldives through a range of bespoke scents created using natural and sustainably sourced ingredients

about vilunu

Vilunü in Dhivehi refers to the shades of blue found in the tranquil calm of our lagoons.

Our Story

We started in 2017, with an idea to create scents inspired by the memories of our childhood homes and island visits.

Close your eyes and picture the Maldives. Turquoise lagoons, white sand and palm fronds come to mind. Less known are our tropical jungles and lush home gardens that hold many wonders. Drawing inspiration from our surroundings and our flora, paired together with the nostalgia of slow island life, we create Scents of Maldives.

Who We Are

We are two quiet, curious people, always keen to explore and learn from others. The inspiration for our scents comes from our Maldivian roots and traditions, and the stories we grew up hearing of our connections to the local flora and nature. We share a love for clean skincare and ethical beauty products.

Our Brand

We create home fragrance and bath and body products featuring our signature scents inspired by the flowers, spices and plants found in our islands. Blended to create unique aromas that complement and enhance each other, the scents work to evoke your memories and transport you to your island adventures in the Maldives.

Our Ethical Approach

In order to ensure the highest quality standards, our ingredients are sustainably sourced from reputed suppliers who are ISO 9001 and Fair Trade certified, implement Good Manufacturing Practices, and are cruelty-free.

We strive to create an eco-conscious, sustainable brand. As of now, the main body of our diffusers are made from PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) materials, and the diffuser boxes are recyclable and fully paper based. Our hand cream tubes are also 50% PCR and are recyclable.
